Perryman leads No. 16 Buffs in fall finale
Alayna Perryman birdied two holes on the back nine on the way to leading the No. 16 Milligan College women’s golf team to a fourth-place finish to wrap up the fall season Tuesday.
ROME, Ga. (Oct. 22, 2019) – Alayna Perryman birdied two holes on the back nine on the way to leading the No. 16 Milligan College women's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational to wrap up the fall season Tuesday. Perryman earned a spot on the all-tournament team with a finish of third individually in a deep and competitive field of 17 teams and 88 individuals.
Milligan carded 305 over Monday's first round, which had the Buffaloes in second place only three strokes off the lead. After Tuesday's round of 313, they finished seven strokes off the lead.
Perryman's all-tourney honor came after she posted rounds of 74 and 75, only one stroke off the individual lead. Meryl Castle was not far behind, coming in at seventh overall with rounds of 74 and 78. Rounding out the Buffs on the leaderboard were Emma Brown (79-80/29th), Nellie Berglund (79-80/29th) and Danielle Mirovich (78-84/36th).
Milligan will break from competition through the winter season and return to action in the spring. The season will conclude with the AAC Spring Championship, NAIA AAC Direct Qualifier, and, upon qualification, a trip to the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship. The Buffs have been to the national championship four of the last five seasons.
