Cheesman and King Named to SSAC Women's Bowling Scholar-Athlete Team
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - On Friday, the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) released the five women's bowling student-athletes who were named to the Barnes & Noble College Scholar-Athlete Team for 2024-25. Milligan had two athletes recognized, as Emily Cheesman and Emily King earned the honor.
To be eligible for this award, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have competed in 50% of competitions.
Cheesman was a NAIA Third-Team All-American this season, and averaged just shy of 200 pins per game. She is a Nursing major that boasts a 3.69 GPA in the program.
For King, it was a All-SSAC First Team caliber season on the lanes, while she has posted a 3.86 GPA in the Psychology program at Milligan. She had one event win this season, as well.
