Cheesman Finishes Second, Pushes Milligan Women's Bowling to Third Place at Bowlero Southern
MARIETTA, Ga. – The Milligan University women's bowling team continued its 2024-25 season at Bowlero Southern on Saturday and Sunday in Marietta, Ga. The Buffaloes grabbed a third-place team finish at the event, while standout Eimly Cheesman posted a runner-up individual finish.
The tournament consisted of six team games and 20 baker games, as Milligan scored a total of 5,585 pins in the team games and 3,742 in the baker games. Their overall total was 9,327 pins.
Cheesman's stellar weekend, which included a 259 in her fifth team game, ended up clinching her second-place as an individual. She tallied 1,300 pins for the event in team games and her 259 was the best single game of any bowler in the tournament on the women's side. She posted a 216.67 average.
It was a nice performance from Allison Robbins, as well, that helped pull Milligan to a third-place result. She placed 15th as an individual, and she posted a 189.5 average with a top-score of 215 for the event.
Taylor Phillips also finished in the top 20 for Milligan JV1. She finished 19th with a 187.33 scoring average and a 223 in her final team game.
Now, the Milligan women will look forward to the Collegiate Team Match Games Tier 1 event in Fairview Heights, Ill. on Nov. 23-24 for their next appearance on the lanes.
