Women’s Bowling earns No. 9 seed on first day of NAIA National Championship
STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (March 23, 2023) – The Milligan University women’s bowling team secured the No. 9 seed after 24 bakers games of qualifying on the first day of the NAIA National Championship at Five Star Lanes in Michigan.

The Buffs five-woman unit of Taylor Davis, Brianna Rickert, Laci MacQuisten, Elizabeth Coutta and Emily Cheesman totaled 4,434 pins (184.75 average) during the six four-game blocks of seeding. The Buffs exceeded 200 pins in eight baker games with a single-game high of 222 twice. The Buffs' top four-game scoring block came with a 774 in the third baker set.
Indiana Tech posted the top qualifying score of 4,800. The Warriors, St. Francis, SCAD Savannah and Baker each earned byes as the top four seeds in the first round of tomorrow's double-elimination bracket play.
As the No. 9 seed, Milligan will take on eighth-seeded Cumberlands tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. in a best-of-five head-to-head baker match. The winner moves on to square off with No. 1 Indiana Tech while the loser will drop to elimination bracket.
