Emily Cheesman earns all-tournament honors at Cincinnati Classic
FAIRFIELD, Ohio (October 23, 2022) – The Milligan University women’s bowling team notched a seventh-place finish at the Mid-South Conference Cincinnati Classic on Saturday and Sunday in Ohio.
FAIRFIELD, Ohio (October 23, 2022) – The Milligan University women's bowling team notched a seventh-place finish at the Mid-South Conference Cincinnati Classic on Saturday and Sunday in Ohio.
The Buffs cleared 8,276 points over the course of nine individual games to finish seventh of 15 teams.
Emily Cheesman became the first Milligan women's bowler to earn individual all-tournament honors with a fifth-place showing in the individual standings. Across nine games, Cheesman averaged 204 pins with five games over 200. She posted high games of 233 and 234 on her way to 1,836 total pins.
Elizabeth Coutta placed 36th with 1,591 pins (176.78 average). Despite not rolling Milligan's opening game, Brianna Rickert was 38th in total pins (1,591) and top-10 with a 198.25 average. Rickert eclipsed 200 pins four times in eight games with a high of 226. Laci MacQuisten recorded an average of 178.75 pins over eight games with a high of 213.
"The ladies really continued their momentum they built from their last tournament in Dayton to finish strong yet again," said head coach Brian Rickert. "Brianna Rickert came off the bench in game two and bowled phenomenal. Her experience has been a huge factor for this young team. Emily Cheesman was an absolute force all weekend and I'm so happy for her to be taking home the first All-Tournament Team honor in women's history. I'm sure this won't be the last for her."
Milligan bowling heads south for the SCAD-Savannah Collegiate Shootout next weekend.
