Longmire, Romines, Runnels and Wilson named Academic All-District by CSC
MILLIGAN, Tenn. (February 21, 2023) – Milligan University women’s basketball players Lauren Longmire, Kayla Romines, Madi Runnels and Stacia Wilson were named to the College Sports Communicator’s Academic All-District Team.
MILLIGAN, Tenn. (February 14, 2023) – Milligan University women's basketball players Lauren Longmire, Kayla Romines, Madi Runnels and Stacia Wilson were named to the College Sports Communicator's Academic All-District Team.
Longmire, a psychology major with a 3.76 cumulative GPA, enjoyed a breakout sophomore season after earning AAC All-Freshman Team and AAC All-Defensive Team honors last winter. Longmire was Milligan's leader in scoring, rebounding and assists as she averaged 14.1 points per game 6.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists.
Romines started all 28 games and remained one of the top three-point shooters in the AAC. She averaged 7.3 points per game and ranked 10th in the conference with 45 made three-pointers. She made her 100th career three-pointer earlier this season. Romines is a psychology major with a 3.63 GPA.
Runnels is a junior nursing major with a 3.63 GPA. On the court, she started 25 games for the Buffs. She ranks fifth in the AAC with 37 blocks. She averaged 4.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.
A four-year contributor with over 100 games played for Milligan, Wilson started 27 games as a senior. She was the team's second-leading rebounder over the regular season at 6.0 boards per game. She also averaged a career high 8.2 points per game. A fine arts major, she owns a cumulative GPA of 3.53.
Milligan posted a 19-9 regular season record and finished third in the AAC with a 19-9 league mark. The Buffs take on No. 6 seed Montreat in the AAC Tournament quarterfinals on Thursday at 5:15 p.m. at the Meadowview Marriott in Kingsport.
