Longmire scores 26 in 89-77 Women’s Basketball win at Bluefield
BLUEFIELD, Va. (November 15, 2022) – Lauren Longmire scored a career-high 26 points and the Milligan University women’s basketball team drained 12 threes on their way to an 89-77 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) victory at Bluefield on Tuesday evening.

The Buffs notched their fourth win in a row to move to 4-2 on the season and 2-0 in AAC play. Bluefield falls to 1-5, 1-3 AAC.
The Buffs built a 49-34 halftime lead and maintained a 15-point edge heading into the fourth quarter. The Rams clawed back to make it a one-possession game (75-72) with 5:44 left in regulation. Milligan responded with a 12-0 run to seal that game. In that decisive spurt, Emma Harig converted a three-point play and Semaj Clark drilled a three to help put the game out of reach.
Longmire's 26 points on nine-of-14 shooting led all scorers. She made three threes and five free throws on the night and accumulated five rebounds and four assists. Harig and Clark tallied 11 points apiece. Stacia Wilson was Milligan's leading rebounder with eight boards and six points.
Jaycie Jenkins returned to Milligan's lineup and scored eight points in 16 minutes of action. Kayla Romines also chipped in with eight points.
The Buffs shot 48.4 percent from the field and held Bluefield to 34.7 percent shooting. Milligan outrebounded the rams 42-30 and racked up 34 bench points.
The Buffs return to action Saturday at Kentucky Christian for a 2:00 p.m. AAC matchup.
