KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 25, 2022) – Milligan University women's basketball sophomore forward Jaycie Jenkins added a third All-American award as she was tabbed as an NAIA All-America Honorable Mention on Friday.
Jenkins becomes Milligan's first NAIA All-American since Sarah Robinson in 2018, is one of 15 underclassmen to reel in NAIA All-America honors and one of two Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) honorees.
Jenkins was honored as an Academic All-American® by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) last week, and on Monday was one of 10 players named to the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA) NAIA All-America Team. Jenkins is the first Milligan women's basketball play in program history to collect CoSIDA, WBCA and NAIA All-America honors in the same season.
Jenkins was the nation's fifth-leading scorer in 2021-22 at 21.7 points per game and scored her 1,000th career point as a Buff in her 51st career game. She compiled13 double-doubles, 16 20-point games and four 30-point outings with a high of 36 points. Jenkins was the conference's third-leading rebounder (9.1) and was second in the AAC in offensive rebounds (84) and free throws made (152).
Jenkins helped the Buffs to a 25-8 record and runner-up finish in the AAC regular season standings and in the AAC Tournament. Milligan posted its highest conference win percentage as a member of the AAC (.917) as the Buffs were 22-2 against league opponents.
