Jaycie Jenkins named WBCA All-American
ATLANTA (March 21, 2022) – Milligan University sophomore Jaycie Jenkins was named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association (WBCA) NAIA Coaches’ All-America team on Monday.
ATLANTA (March 21, 2022) – Milligan University sophomore Jaycie Jenkins was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA) NAIA Coaches' All-America team on Monday.
Jenkins is one of 10 players in the nation to secure WBCA All-American honors. The WBCA NAIA Coaches' All-Americans were selected by a committee of WBCA member coaches in the NAIA.
Last week, Jenkins was honored as an Academic All-American® by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). One of the top players in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) and the nation, Jenkins was awarded All-AAC First Team, AAC All-Defensive Team and AAC All-Tournament honors.
Jenkins was the nation's fifth-leading scorer in 2021-22 at 21.7 points per game and scored her 1,000th career point as a Buff in her 51st career game. She compiled13 double-doubles, 16 20-point games and four 30-point outings with a high of 36 points. Jenkins was the conference's third-leading rebounder (9.1) and was second in the AAC in offensive rebounds (84) and free throws made (152).
Jenkins helped the Buffs to a 25-8 record and runner-up finish in the AAC regular season standings and in the AAC Tournament. Milligan posted its highest conference win percentage as a member of the AAC (.917) as the Buffs were 22-2 against league opponents.
