Halie Padgett named AAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (February 21, 2022) – Milligan University senior Halie Padgett has been tabbed as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Padgett posted a pair of 20-point, 10-rebound double-double performances in a pair of victories for the Buffs last week. She also shot 20-of-25 (80.0 percent) from the field over those two games.
She scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Milligan's 68-54 win at Point last Wednesday. The victory clinched the second overall seed in this week's AAC Tournament. Padgett followed that performance with a 21-point, 12-rebound effort in the Buffs' 73-50 triumph over Johnson (Tenn.) in Milligan's regular season finale.
Padgett shot 64.4 percent during the regular season, which ranks third nationally. She leads the AAC in field goal percentage and ranks in the top 10 in field goals made, rebounding, and blocked shots.
Milligan hosts the No. 15 seed St. Andrews tonight in the first round of the AAC Tournament at the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse at 5:30 p.m.
