Jaycie Jenkins named AAC Player of the Week for fourth time this season
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (February 14, 2022) – Milligan University sophomore Jaycie Jenkins collected Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for the fourth time this season, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (February 14, 2022) – Milligan University sophomore Jaycie Jenkins collected Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the fourth time this season, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Jenkins led the Buffs to a 3-0 week with wins over Reinhardt, Montreat and St. Andrews. She averaged 24.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 53.2 percent from the field.
She recorded a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds in the Buffs' win at Reinhardt and posted her fourth 30-point game with 32 points against St. Andrews.
Heading into the final week of the regular season, Jenkins leads the AAC in scoring and ranks fifth nationally at 22.4 points per game. She stands second in the AAC in offensive rebounds (70) and free throws made (131).
Milligan women's basketball can wrap up the No. 2 seed in the AAC Tournament with a win at Point on Wednesday evening.
