Jaycie Jenkins repeats as AAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (November 22, 2021) – Milligan University sophomore Jaycie Jenkins was honored as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second-straight week on Monday afternoon.
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (November 22, 2021) – Milligan University sophomore Jaycie Jenkins was honored as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the second-straight week on Monday afternoon.
Jenkins helped the Buffs to two come-from-behind victories over the last week in the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse as Milligan has opened AAC play with a six-game winning streak.
Jenkins scored 24 points and had six rebounds in the Buffs' 79-75 victory over Tennessee Wesleyan. Milligan trailed the Bulldogs by 11 points with four minutes left in regulation and rallied back to win. Jenkins assisted Kayla Romines on the Buffs' go-ahead three in the final minute and drilled a dagger three of her own in the final seconds of the contest.
On Saturday, Jenkins had 19 points, 12 rebounds, a season high six assists and three blocks in Milligan's 72-61 win over Truett McConnell. Milligan trailed by as many as nine points in the third quarter, but battled back for the win.
The Buffs (6-3, 6-0 AAC) head to Bluefield tomorrow for a road AAC matchup after a three-game homestand.
