Women’s basketball drops AAC game at Reinhardt
Lily Griffith scored 18 points while Kaely Gose and Halie Padgett both registered double-doubles, but it was not enough as the Milligan College women’s basketball team fell to Reinhardt University, 71-60, Sunday afternoon on the road. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, but weather in the area forced the game to be pushed back one day.

(Feb. 9, 2020) – Lily Griffith scored 18 points while Kaely Gose and Halie Padgett both registered double-doubles, but it was not enough as the Milligan College women's basketball team fell to Reinhardt University, 71-60, Sunday afternoon on the road. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, but weather in the area forced the game to be pushed back one day.
The Buffs dug themselves into a hole after the opening quarter, trailing by 11 after 10 minutes which proved to be the difference in the game. Reinhardt led 25-14 at the first break and did not lead by more than 12 until the final eight minutes of the game.
During that stretch, Milligan cut it to as few as two in the first half following a 3-pointer by Griffith near the four-minute mark. The Buffs also cut the deficit as low as seven on multiple occasions in the third quarter, but Reinhardt started the fourth on a 7-0 run to effectively put the game away.
By the numbers
Gose and Padgett picked up their team-leading 12th and sixth double-doubles of the season with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 11 points, 10 rebounds, respectively. Gose ranks third in the Appalachian Athletic Conference in that category.
Bailey Berry followed with eight points, and Malarie Tallent scored six.

Milligan travels to Columbia, South Carolina, for an AAC game against Columbia International University before returning home to Steve Lacy Fieldhouse to host Union College next Saturday, Feb. 15.
