GRAYSON, Ky. (Jan. 15, 2020) – Another career day from Kaely Gose led to another win for the Milligan College women's basketball team. Gose scored 24 points and added 11 rebounds, and Milligan defeated Kentucky Christian University 78-63 Wednesday night on the road.
Gose, who scored a career high 30 in Milligan's win Saturday, tallied her fifth straight double-digit scoring game and team leading eighth double-double of the season. It also marked the 10th time in the last 11 games she went to double figures for scoring.
Game flow
Milligan opened the game strong, leading 27-9 at the first break, which included a 22-5 run to finish the first quarter. The lead then went as high as 23 early in the second quarter on an Emily Kiser 3-pointer, although the Lady Knights had it down to 14 by the end of the third and to eight early in the fourth.
Halie Padgett scored a couple of key baskets to help thwart Kentucky Christian's attempt at a comeback with back-to-back field goals that made it 64-52. After the Lady Knights then hit a three to bring Milligan's lead back to within single digits, Gose answered with a three of her own to make it double digits again, where the Buffs would lead the rest of the way.
Gose's three started a 9-0 run Milligan used to seal the win and a 14-8 run to end the game.
