PIPPA PASSES, Ky. (Nov. 11, 2019) – After picking up its first win of the season Saturday in nonconference action, the Milligan College women's basketball team suffered defeat in another nonconference game Monday evening on the road, falling to Alice Lloyd College 81-66.
Milligan looked poised for its second straight win after an 8-1 run over the last 90 seconds of the second quarter sent the Buffs into the halftime break ahead 41-30. Halie Padgett had a big first half, and Malarie Tallent knocked down a 3-pointer as the first-half buzzer sounded to cap the run. However, Alice Lloyd drew the game even by the midpoint of the third quarter before gaining and extending a lead over the final 15 minutes.
Padgett led Milligan with 15 points off the bench, one of four Buffs in double figures for scoring. Hannah Wyrick followed with 12 points, while Lily Griffith and Kaely Gose scored 10 apiece.
Up next, Milligan stays on the road for the rest of this week. First up, the Buffs head to Columbia, South Carolina, for Allen University on Wednesday, then to Athens, Tennessee, for Tennessee Wesleyan University on Saturday. The next home game for the Buffs is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 20, against Montreat College.
