Katie Cronin earns AAC Player of the Week honors for second time in 2023
WALESKA, Ga. (March 13, 2023) – Milligan University softball senior Katie Cronin was honored as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced on Monday.
WALESKA, Ga. (March 13, 2023) – Milligan University softball senior Katie Cronin was honored as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Player of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced on Monday.
Cronin helped the Buffs to a 6-2 week as Milligan earned conference doubleheader sweeps over Union, Bluefield and St. Andrews.
Cronin went 16-28 at the plate for a .571 batting average across the eight games. She knocked five doubles, three triples, stole four bases and walked four times. She scored eight runs and drove in eight runs over the course of the week.
Cronin notched multi-hit outings in seven games and had multiple extra base hits in three games. Cronin had two triples and four RBI in a 10-5 win over St. Andrews.
The 2021 AAC Player of the Year leads the AAC in triples, ranks second in doubles and extra base hits, third in slugging, fourth in total bases, fifth in on-base percentage and seventh in batting and runs scored.
Milligan welcomes No. 18 Tennessee Wesleyan to Anglin Field on Thursday for a doubleheader starting at 2:00 p.m.
