Nine Buffs earn NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete awards

LOUSIVILLE, Ky. (August 4, 2022) – The Milligan University softball team had nine student-athletes recognized as All-America Scholar-Athletes by Easton and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) this week.

Milligan's team GPA of 3.481 ranked 19th nationally among NAIA institutions.

To earn All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, a player must maintain a 3.5 grade-point average or better during the 2021-22 academic year. The Buffs' Scholar-Athletes were Alexis Brown, Bailey Cantrell, Katie Cronin, Erin Forgety, Grace Jones, Miranda Millington, Kate Pendleton, Hadley York and Wheatley York. Cantrell, Cronin, Forgety, Jones, Millington and Pendleton were repeat honorees.

In 2021, Milligan spent several weeks ranked in the NAIA's Top 25 and finished the year with a 23-15 record and an appearance in the AAC Tournament.
