NEW ORLEANS, La. - On Wednesday afternoon, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the winners of the Regional Athletes and Coaches of the Year for the 2024 cross country season. As part of the plaudits, Bryn Woodall and Chris Layne were named South Region Men's Athlete and Men's Coach of the Year for Milligan University.

For Woodall, he has now won the honor in back-to-back seasons, having earned it in 2023 and now 2024. A Milligan athlete has now won the award on five of the last six campaigns.

Layne has now been awarded South Region Men's Coach of the Year in the last six seasons, beginning in 2019.
