The Buffs start their season at the App State Firetower Project in Boone, N.C., hosted by Appalachian State University on Sept. 13. A week later, they host the third annual Eli Cramer Invitational, which is set to be run on Friday, Sept. 20.
Two meets in October will follow, as the squads begin the month on Friday, Oct. 4 with a trip to Greenville, N.C., where they will battle as part of the ECU pirate Invitational. The race is hosted by East Carolina University. Then, after a 22-day hiatus, the NAIA Appalachian Challenge comes around. It will be the third year in a row that the Buffs have run at the event in Knoxville. The race is set for Saturday, Oct. 26, and the Buffs will be looking to defend their winning streak at the event, as neither squad has failed to win the NAIA Appalachian Challenge in the two previous years that they have competed.
In the month of November, it is all about the postseason for Milligan, as the AAC Cross Country Championships are first up on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Sequoyah Park in Knoxville. Following the conference event, the NAIA Cross Country Championships are being held in Columbia, Mo. at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course this season on Friday, Nov. 22. The Buff men and women hope that they will be able to replicate what they did in 2021 and take both the men's and women's national titles in 2024.
