Bryn Woodall named AAC Runner of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. (October 23, 2023) – Milligan University junior Bryn Woodall was honored as the Appalachian Athletic Conference Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week after setting the Buffs’ 8k program record on Friday.
WALESKA, Ga. (October 23, 2023) – Milligan University junior Bryn Woodall was honored as the Appalachian Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week after setting the Buffs' 8k program record on Friday.
Woodall won the individual title at the NAIA Appalachian Challenge in 23:49, besting Milligan's previous 8k record by six seconds. Woodall topped the 180-man field at Sequoyah Park in Knoxville as the No. 3 Buffs took home the meet title with a team score of 42 points. Milligan finished ahead of No. 10 Montreat and (RV) Huntington in the team standings.
Aaron Jones finished third in 24:05 and Will Stockley followed fifth in 24:12 as both runners posted season-best times. Zimri Kuhn crossed 10th in a personal-best time of 25:01. Sylas Chambers completed Milligan's scoring five with a PB of 25:35 to finish 23rd.
Woodall is the third Milligan men's cross country runner to break 24 minutes in an 8k race, joining Jones and former Buff great Nathan Baker. He is the fourth Milligan men's cross country runner to receive AAC Men's Runner of the Week this season.
The Buffs head back to Sequoyah Park for the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships on Nov. 3.
