Men’s Cross Country stays at No. 4 in NAIA Top 25
MILLIGAN, Tenn. (October 14, 2021) – The Milligan University men’s cross country team appeared as the No. 4 team in the third in-season edition of the NAIA Men’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 poll.
MILLIGAN, Tenn. (October 14, 2021) – The Milligan University men's cross country team appeared as the No. 4 team in the third in-season edition of the NAIA Men's Cross Country Coaches' Top 25 poll.
The men were slotted fourth in the nation for the second-consecutive week. The squad made its 19th-straight appearance in the rankings and 14th-consecutive top-15 spot.
The Buffs took fourth out of 33 teams in the "gold" race at the Royals Challenge on Friday evening at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte. For the second-straight meet, Milligan's men set PBs across the board and re-wrote the program's all-time 8k top 10.
Aaron Jones became the fastest men's cross country runner in program history with a 23:55 8k time. Nathan Baker joined him as the first two runners in team history to log a sub-24 minute time at 23:56.
Will Stockley became the third-fastest man in school history at 24:08 and Eli Cramer posted a 24:14, three seconds fastest than the previous program mark that he set two weeks previously.
Alex Mortimer took the final spot in the Buffs' top all-time top 10 at 24:59.
Milligan's finishers spanned recorded a spread of just over a minute (23:55-24:59).
Milligan cross country finishes up its regular season at the second annual NAIA Southeast Classic, hosted by South Carolina Beaufort on Oct. 23.
