DAYTON, Tenn. (Sept. 25, 2020) – The Milligan University cross country teams remained unbeaten after sweeping their second meet of the season at Bryan Friday night. Sophomore Evan Henson led the men while freshman Kaelyn Slaughter led the women, both with a runner-up finish in the head-to-head meet.
Both teams put a handful of runners inside the seven. David Crow (third), Jake Domermuth (sixth) and Caleb Arias (seventh) followed close behind Henson in the men's 5k race. Lauren Spry, Valentina Kenjeres, Camila Rivas and Rebecca Glover went 4-5-6-7 in the women's two-mile.
"This group has really worked hard and they needed this race experience," Head Coach Chris Layne said. "It's added value they were able to pick up two team wins. There's some folks in this bunch that are going to end up helping us down the line."
Up next, Milligan faces Bryan and Tennessee Wesleyan next Friday, Oct. 2, in the second annual Buffalo Creek Invitational. Teams will race on Milligan's campus along the M Training Loop near Buffalo Creek.
