NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 13, 2022) – Three Milligan University outdoor track athletes competed at the 20th annual Music City Track Carnival at Vanderbilt University.
Will Stockley recorded a four-second personal best and matched Philip Rotich's 2002 school record in the 1500 with a time of 3:49.00.
""I felt like Will just needed the right race and this was the one," said head coach Chris Layne. "Excited to see what he does in year two now having gotten adjusted to a new system!"
Caitlin Dominy posted a first-place finish in the women's open mile with a PB of 5:03.26 and Aaron Jones notched his 12th sub-15 minute 5k at 14:55.84.
"It's tough coming straight off the energy and emotion of the national meet into an event like this," said Layne. "But this crew deserved this opportunity and it was so good to see them take advantage of it and to see the sport in a different light."
Stockley and Jones concluded their seasons as All-Americans in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track, the fifth and sixth student-athletes in program history to accomplish that feat. Dominy had her best season to date as an All-AAC First Team cross country runner and national qualifier in indoor and outdoor track. The trio helped Milligan capture its first two NAIA national championships in men's and women's cross country in November.
