BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. (May 6, 2022) – The Milligan University outdoor track & field team competed at Montreat College's last chance meet on Friday evening.
"Just as we got going tonight we had a weather delay but I think our crew handled it well," said head coach Chris Layne. "Halie had a new PB in the vault and had a good shot at 3.40m. Keaton PB'd in the 5k and we had a bunch of quality runs in other events with Sky winning the 400 and Bryn winning the 1500. Proud of our 15 girls as well - thought they competed well."
Halie Hawkins set a personal best in the pole vault by clearing 3.25 meters.
Caitlin Dominy recorded a national qualifying mark and personal of 4:39.44. Alyssa Bearzi finished fifth in 4:47.38 and Ali Burns was sixth in 5:05.90.
Bryn Woodall won the men's 1500 in 3:58.38. Aaron Jones finished second in 4:00.00 and Alex Brittain took fifth in 4:07.58.
Keaton Hincher posted a personal best 5k time of 15:49.39 to finish sixth. Matt Huff placed 10th in 16:18.46.
Skylan Stephens recorded the top 400 meter time of 50.75.
Kiley Wood was the runner-up in the 800 in 2:23.76.
Milligan's men's 4x800 meter relay group of Sylas Chambers, Will Stockley, Austin Walker and Alex Windham clocked in a 7:54.56.
Keith Fletcher posted a 16.04 mark in 110 meter hurdles.
Will Owen took fifth in the 800 in 1:58.15 and Mikel Valladares followed in ninth in 2:04.14.
Milligan heads to Lee next Saturday for the Buffs' final pre-NAIA National Championship meet.
