Outdoor Track claims four conference titles on day one of AAC Championships
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 22, 2022) – The Milligan University outdoor track & field teams claimed four conference championships on the day at Kermit Tipton Stadium on Friday.

The Buffs earned a pair of AAC titles in both 4x800 relays. The women's grouping of Avery DeWolf Burton, Kiley Wood, Rebecca Glover and Gracie Allen won in 9:33.33. Will Stockley, Sylas Chambers, Austin Walker and Alex Windham set the AAC Championship record and narrowly missed out on a national qualifying time at 7:49.00.
Caitlin Dominy claimed the AAC title in the 1500 as the Buffs swept the top three spots. Dominy notched another national qualifying effort in the event with a 4:39.67. Avery DWolf Burton was the conference runner-up at 4:42.91, another national qualifying effort. Alyssa Bearzi finished third in 4:46.93. Allen and Ali Burns also notched top-eight finishes as Allen ran 5:02.10 and Burns finished in 5:03.02.
Aaron Jones set an AAC Championship record in the 10k as he took the conference crown in 31:28.00, an NAIA national qualifying time. Evan Henson was the AAC runner-up in 32:15.45.
Skylan Stephens was the runner-up in the 400 with a national qualifying and personal best time of 48.42. Ja'Quan Williams also scored in the 400 with a PB of 49.35 to finish seventh.
Stockley finished third in the men's 1500 in 4:00.58. Nathan Baker posted the top time in heat two to finish fourth in 4:02.42 and Bryn Woodall took fifth in 4:02.56. Alex Brittain made it four Buffs in the top eight as he finished seventh in 4:07.03.
Halie Hawkins was the conference runner-up in the pole vault with a 3.15 meter mark. Ella Maiden joined Hawkins as a scorer in the pole vault as she finished fourth at 3.05 meters. Maiden added a third-place finish in the long jump at 4.66 meters.
Corey Greeson scored with a fourth-place showing in the discus with a heave of 43.18 meters. Kade Hoilman narrowly missed a spot in the finals in the hammer throw as he finished 10th at 34.02 meters.
Joy Reks took sixth in the hammer throw at 36.50 meters. Ellie Ayers took ninth in the discus with a long of 30.37 meters.
Kamdyn Lee placed 11th in the men's 100 and Jemimah Ndune was 14th in the women's 100.
The AAC Outdoor Championships continue tomorrow
