Peralta and Lotivio Named AAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) unveiled their Track & Field Athletes of the Week for Jan. 27-Feb. 2 on Monday. Luis Peralta and Phillip Lotivio were each selected as the recipients of the men's track and field recognitions, respectively, for Milligan University.
For Peralta, it was a week in which he posted a 2:31.73 clip in the 1000m at the Bast-Cregger Invitational in Salem, Va. on Jan. 31. That time earned him the victory and made him the No. 2 time in the AAC at this point in the season. Additionally, he took part in the 400m on Feb. 1 and placed third, once again sporting the AAC's second-best time this year. His time was 50.83 seconds. This is his second straight week being awarded the men's track honor.
Lotivio entered the weekend with high hopes for his Heptathlon performance at the VMI Winter Relays. In the end, he came away with 4,449 points across the seven events, which were the 60m Dash, Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump, 60m Hurdles, Pole Vault and 1000m. His points total is a new Milligan program record, and he now sits at the No. 22 mark in the NAIA in the Heptathlon while currently leading the AAC. This is his first Field Athlete of the Week recognition of his young career with the Buffaloes.
