Peralta and Kearney named AAC Track Athletes of the Week for Milligan Indoor T&F

WALESKA, Ga. - On Monday, the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) released their Track & Field Athletes of the Week for Jan. 19-26, with Luis Peralta and Ellen-Mary Kearney being recognized as the recipients of the men's and women's track awards for the Milligan University squads via their performaces at the VMI Invitational. 

For Peralta, he was able to take home the win in the men's 800m with a time of 1:52.46. This time was able to qualify him for nationals in Gainesville, Fla. on Feb. 27-28. Peralta was also a key part of two relay teams that took home victories and became top times in the NAIA, as he participated in the 4x800m Relay, as well as the Distance Medley Relay.  

Kearney had a memorable weekend at the VMI Invitational, hosted by Virginia Military Institute in Lexington,Va. She became the all-time Milligan University record holder in the women's 3k with her lifetime-best mark of 9:35.84.
