DMRs run national No. 1 times at Camel City Invitational
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (January 26, 2024) – The Milligan University indoor track and field teams recorded three NAIA “A” standards and won three meet titles on the opening day of the Camel City Invitational at the JDL Fast Track on Friday.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (January 26, 2024) – The Milligan University indoor track and field teams recorded three NAIA "A" standards and won three meet titles on the opening day of the Camel City Invitational at the JDL Fast Track on Friday.
Milligan ran national No. 1 times, hit the NAIA automatic national qualifying standards pre-conversion and captured the meet titles in both distance medley relays on Thursday. Bryn Woodall, Romaio Taylor, Sylas Chambers and Will Stockley took first place in 10:06.15. Patricia Barrera, Hope Krell, Ellen-Mary Kearney and Caitlin Dominy won the women's race in 12:21.78.
Keith Fletcher met the NAIA "A" standard in the 60-meter hurdles. He qualified for the final and finished fifth in 8.20.
The Buffs swept the top three spots in the men's 600 meters. Carter Windham took home the Camel City crown in 1:24.49. Arran Kearney was second in 1:24.81 and Roman Hodgson finished third in 1:25.14.
Hannah Brown led a trio of top-six finishers in the 5k. Brown finished second in 18:34.28, Anna Jones was third in 18:42.05 and Natalie Fellers crossed sixth in 19:06.29.
Zimri Kuhn finished third in the 5k in 15:28.62. Mitchell McCown placed seventh in 15:39.53 and Dillon Craig was ninth in 15:57.86.
McKenzie Fitzgerald was 10th in the women's 600 in 1:45.85.
Milligan wraps up at the Camel City Invite tomorrow.
