Will Stockley and Ellen-Mary Kearney sweep AAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honors
WALESKA, Ga. (January 22, 2024) – Milligan University’s Will Stockley and Ellen-Mary Kearney were honored as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Indoor Track Athletes of the Week on Monday.
WALESKA, Ga. (January 22, 2024) – Milligan University's Will Stockley and Ellen-Mary Kearney were honored as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Indoor Track Athletes of the Week on Monday.
The duo both completed impressive double-victories on Saturday in the 800 and 1k at the Finn Pincus Invitational at Roanoke.
Stockley took the meet title in the 1k with an NAIA automatic national standard time of 2:30.47. His converted time of 2:28.43 ranks fifth in the NAIA this season. He also topped a 36-man field in the 800 with a winning time of 1:57.22. His converted mark of 1:55.57 is 19th in the NAIA.
Kearney won the 1k in 2:58.50 and her converted time of 2:56.58 hit the NAIA "A" standard and is the No. 2 time in the nation. She beat out 44 other runners in the 800 which she won in 2:20.32. Her post-conversion time of 2:18.72 is 11th in the NAIA.
Milligan track returns to the JDL Fast Track for the Camel City Invitational this weekend.
