Bryn Woodall tabbed as USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week
NEW ORLEANS (February 21, 2023) – Milligan University sophomore Bryn Woodall was honored as the M-F Athletic National NAIA Men’s Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association after he won three conference titles at the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Championships last week.
NEW ORLEANS (February 21, 2023) – Milligan University sophomore Bryn Woodall was honored as the M-F Athletic National NAIA Men's Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) after he won three conference titles at the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Championships last week.
Woodall ran the National No. 1 time, an AAC Championship meet record and set the collegiate venue record at the JDL Fast Track with a 2:27.31 effort in the 1k on Friday evening.
On Saturday Woodall won the 3k in 8:25.66, edging out teammate Aaron Jones, the NAIA national leader, by more than five seconds. He went on to win the mile in 4:18.52, ahead of teammate and the NAIA's No. 2 miler Will Stockley by over two seconds.
Woodall was named the AAC Men's Track Athlete of the Year as Milligan took the men's team title for the second-straight season with a conference championship meet record 219 points.
Woodall and company turn their attention to the NAIA National Championships next week in Brookings, S.D. The NAIA announces its championship field on Friday.
