Caitlin Dominy and Will Stockley secure AAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honors

WALESKA, Ga. (January 16, 2023) – Milligan University senior Caitlin Dominy and graduate student Will Stockley were named as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Indoor Track Athletes of the Week on Monday.

Both runners achieved national qualifying times with national top-five marks in the 1k at the JDL Fast Track on Saturday. In the Buffs' return to action for the first time in the 2023 calendar year, the Buffs squared off against competition from NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III and the NAIA.

Dominy won the 35-woman 1k with a personal best 2:58.45 time, hitting the NAIA "A" standard before a track size conversion. Her converted time of 2:56.53 is the second-fastest time in the NAIA this season.

Dominy also ran a leg on the Buffs' third-place 4x800 meter relay that finished in 10:11.62.

Stockley bested a field of 23 in men's 1k with a winning time of 2:31.79. His time converted into a national qualifying mark and is the fifth-fastest men's 1k in the NAIA this winter.

Stockley helped the Buffs' 4x800 relay to a first-place finish in 8:12.58.

Both Dominy and Stockley are national qualifiers in three separate events this season (1k, 3k and 5k).

Milligan indoor track returns to action at the App State Split Invite on Friday (Jan. 20).
