(RV) MU Men's Tennis Drops Battle with UT Southern at Tri-Conference Challenge
MOBILE, Ala. – The Milligan university men's and tennis squad finished off play in the Tri-Conference Challenge in Mobile, Ala. on Saturday, falling 4-2 to UT Southern.
In doubles, Michal Curlej and Ryan Thomas teamed up to win the No. 1 matchup 6-4. The other two Buffaloes pairings could not earn victories, as Thiago Petry and Marcos Moreno fell 6-2 and Gonzaga Lafarga and Brayden Kennedy dropped their tilt 6-1.
Milligan earned two points in singles, as Lafarga earned a 4-1 win via a retirment from his opposition. Petry's singles win came in 7-6, 6-3 fashion in the No. 4 match. Elsewhere, Tenil fell 7-4, 6-2 in match No. 3, while Thomas and Kennedy dropped No. 5 and No. 6.
The men will be back in action against Lees-McRae College on the road in Banner Elk, N.C. on Thursday, Feb. 13.
