Seven tennis student-athletes earn Academic All-District honors from CSC
AUSTIN, Texas (May 9, 2023) – The Milligan University tennis teams had seven student-athletes honored as Academic All-District selections by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday.
AUSTIN, Texas (May 9, 2023) – The Milligan University tennis teams had seven student-athletes honored as Academic All-District selections by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday.
Milligan had four men's and three women's honorees. Graduate Krishan Taneja, senior Justin Rigsby, sophomore Marcos Moreno and senior Carter Rigsby were tabbed to the men's Academic All-District Team. Graduate Camryn Rossa, junior Kylie Enarson and sophomore Sophie Dunman were named to the women's team.
Taneja, an MBA student who graduated with a 3.86 grade point average, was an All-Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Second Team selection this season. He notched a 7-7 singles record while typically playing atop the Buffs' lineup in the competitive AAC.
Justin Rigsby owned a 3.59 GPA as a business major and set Milligan's single-season record with 15 doubles wins during the 2022-23 season. He added a 3-1 record in singles play.
Carter Rigsby, a 3.62 business major, occupied the No. 2 singles spot for the Buffs and notched seven singles victories and three doubles wins.
Moreno boasted a 3.76 GPA as a business major and notched eight singles triumphs and was part of six doubles wins.
Rossa earned her MBA with a 3.77 GPA and collected All-AAC Second Team laurels this season while playing primarily at the No. 2 singles spot. She earned eight singles and eight doubles wins during the season.
Enarson, a business major with a 3.96 GPA, led Milligan with 10 singles victories and added five doubles wins during the 2022-23 season.
Dunman is a psychology major with a 3.73 GPA. She recorded eight doubles wins and five singles triumphs this season.
CSC's Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the tennis court and in the classroom. To be eligible for the award, voted on by Athletic Communication professionals, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.50 GPA or higher and must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
