Women’s Tennis opens spring break trip with 6-1 win over Missouri Valley

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (March 5, 2023) – The Milligan University tennis teams began their spring break trip with matches against Missouri Valley at Hilton Head. The women's tennis team scored a 6-1 while the men were defeat by the Vikings 5-2.

Milligan's women took all three doubles matches to pick up the opening point. Kaitlin Barrett and Camryn Rossa teamed for a 6-2 win at No. 1 singles. Kylie Enarson and Macy Kennedy took a 6-2 win at second singles and Tiana Shelton and Sophie Dunman had a 6-0 sweep at third singles.

Missouri Valley secured the men's doubles point as the Buffs' lone win came with Justin Rigsby and Juan Camilo Burgos at No. 3 doubles (6-3).

The Buffs won second-through-fifth singles to open their spring break trip with a win. In order, Rossa triumphed 6-2, 6-1, Dunman won 6-0, 6-2, Enarson was a 6-0, 6-1 winner, Kennedy posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory and Makenna Peterson closed the day with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph.

Gabrijel Kajic (6-4, 6-4) won at No. 3 singles and Ryan Thomas took a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles for Milligan's men. Marcos Moreno battled at fourth singles but fell in a tiebreaker 7-6, 4-6, 7-10.

Milligan tennis returns to action tomorrow at Hilton Head against Lawrence Tech.
