Buffs suffer narrow defeat to Mars Hill
The Milligan University tennis teams faced Mars Hill Sunday at Mathes Tennis Center and came up on the losing end, 4-3 on the women’s side and 5-2 on the men’s side.
MILLIGAN, Tenn. (March 14, 2021) – The Milligan University tennis teams faced Mars Hill Sunday at Mathes Tennis Center and came up on the losing end, 4-3 on the women's side and 5-2 on the men's side.
Milligan won the doubles point on the women's side after Karson Light and Kylie Enarson swept No. 2 doubles 6-0 and Marlaina Peterson and Macy Kennedy won No. 3 doubles 6-4. It gave the Buffs a chance in the singles action, but Mars Hill won four of the six singles matches to come away victorious. Enarson won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles before Rachel Dove won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
The men suffered a similar fate as they claimed one point in doubles action before falling in four of the six singles matches. Only Carter Rigsby (6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 singles) and Charlie Moseley (6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles) managed a win.
Up next, Milligan heads to Brenau (women only) and SCAD Atlanta next weekend and will return home Friday, March 26, to host Point.
