KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 8, 2020) – Carter Rigsby and Daniel Roshak picked up wins in singles after the Buffs swept doubles on the men's side, but both Milligan College tennis teams lost to Carson-Newman University Saturday on the indoor courts at Knoxville Racquet Club. Milligan's men lost 4-3 while the women lost 7-0.
At No. 5 singles, Rigsby won in three sets, 6-3 in the third, for his fourth win of the season. Roshak, at No. 6 singles, earned his second win as both players remained undefeated in singles.
Milligan started the day strong on the men's side, picking up the doubles point thanks to wins of 7-6 (7-4) and 6-3 at Nos. 2 and 3. Mason Grear and Justin Rigsby made up the No. 2 pair while C. Rigsby and Charlie Moseley made up the No. 3 pair.
That was all the winning the Buffs did, however, as Carson-Newman took the No. 1 doubles match and each of the top four singles points.
Up next, Milligan opens up Appalachian Athletic Conference play on Saturday, Feb. 22, with a matchup against Union College at Mathes Tennis Center.
