Gilbert and Bitting Tabbed Appalachian Athletic Conference Swimmers of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - On Monday morning, the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) revealed the winners of this week's AAC Men's and Women's Swimmers of the Week. Milligan swept the awards for the third time this season, as Stephen Gilbert earned the award for the first time this year and Mary Grace Bitting became a two-time winner.
Gilbert swam an impressive trio of backstroke races, winning all three. He took the 50 Backstroke with a time of 27.53, which is equal to 24.94 when converted for a season-best time. His 100 Backstroke was a 58.88, which was good for the event victory, while he also won the 150 Backstroke with a time of 1:31.99.
Bitting participated in the Butterfly discipline this weekend and won all three distances. Her time of 30.40 in the 50 Butterfly led her to the top of the podium, while she put up a 1:06.73 in the 100 Butterfly to win. Her 150 Butterfly swim was a strong 1:46.63 to win that event, as well.
