Wiktor Perkowski earns Academic All-America® At-Large First Team honors
AUSTIN, Texas (June 14, 2022) – Milligan University swimmer Wiktor Perkowski was tabbed as a member of the Academic All-America® At-Large First Team by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Tuesday afternoon.
AUSTIN, Texas (June 14, 2022) – Milligan University swimmer Wiktor Perkowski was tabbed as a member of the Academic All-America® At-Large First Team by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Tuesday afternoon.
Perkowski becomes the 12th Academic All-American in Milligan history and first men's swimmer to receive the honor. He previously earned Academic All-America First Team status as an undergraduate at Union College.
Perkowski logged a 3.96 grade point average while pursuing an MBA at Milligan during the 2021-22 academic and athletic year.
In the pool, Perkowski was a key contributor to the finest year in Milligan men's swimming history. He collected All-American honors in the 100 fly (6th), 100 back (8th) and swam on all five of the Buffs' All-American relays.
At the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Championships, he claimed conference titles in the 100 back and 100 fly and was the runner-up in the 50 free.
Swimming in his fifth and final season of college swimming, he notched four lifetime bests and set five individual school records and swam on five school record relays.
Perkowski is the only student-athlete from the AAC to collect Academic All-America honors.
Milligan men's swimming captured its second-straight AAC championship, spent the entire season in the top 10 national rankings and finished fifth at the NAIA National Championships in 2021-22.
