Men’s and Women’s Swimming named CSCAA Spring Scholar All-America Teams
MILLIGAN UNIVERSITY, Tenn. (June 22, 2021) – The Milligan University men’s and women’s swimming teams were honored by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as Spring Scholar All-America teams.
MILLIGAN UNIVERSITY, Tenn. (June 22, 2021) – The Milligan University men's and women's swimming teams were honored by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as Spring Scholar All-America Teams.
To earn Scholar All-America team status, a team must achieve a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2021 spring semester. The Buffs also collected Scholar All-America awards for the fall semester.
The women's swim team combined for a 3.59 grade point average, while the Milligan men posted a 3.43 team GPA. Among the other NAIA Scholar All-America teams, the Buffs' finished with the third-highest men's GPA and fifth-best women's mark.
A total of 721 programs from 426 colleges and universities collected Scholar All-America team status. Next week, the CSCAA will release its individual Scholar All-America team.
Milligan captured its first-ever Appalachian Athletic Conference men's swimming championship in 2021. The Buffs had a runner-up showing on the women's side and had a slew of national qualifiers. Despite the lack of a national championship meet, the Milligan swimming teams reeled in 21 All-America awards from the CSCAA based on their top results during the season.
