MILLIGAN, Tenn. (July 13, 2020) – The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) named 1,479 swimmers and divers to the Scholar All-American Team for the 2019-20 season. Jarod Blazo, Ben Hawkins, Mitchell Martin and Matthew McFalls earned spots on the list to represent the Milligan University men's swimming team. Their counterparts on the women's side had seven make the list.
With four Buffaloes on the list, Milligan led the way among Appalachian Athletic Conference member schools.
"I am very proud of this group for being selected for this award, which is by no means easy to achieve," Head Coach Spencer Scarth said. "Being able to hold over a 3.5, and in the cases of Rachel, Kaylee, Ben, Anna H. and Jarod a 4.0, combined with the athletic requirements for this award, is something that we strive for every individual on this team to achieve. I'm also very proud that this group led the AAC in number of individuals selected on both sides, and I can't wait for this team to continue our tradition of academic and athletic success next season."
The award recognizes students who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective national championship. Selections were drawn from 209 colleges and universities.
