Inaki Moreno named First Team All-American
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (December 11, 2023) – Milligan University graduate forward Inaki Moreno was named to the 2023 NAIA Men’s Soccer All-America First Team on Monday.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (December 11, 2023) – Milligan University graduate forward Inaki Moreno was named to the 2023 NAIA Men's Soccer All-America First Team on Monday.
Moreno is the first NAIA First Team All-American in program history. He previously collected NAIA All-American Honorable Mention status in the 2020 season. He joins David Lilly and Steven Townley as the only multi-year All-America selections in program history.
Moreno turned in one of the most prolific offensive seasons in NAIA history. He scored a career high 14 goals, led the nation with 30 assists and finished second in the country with 58 points. Moreno's 2023 campaign ranks third in NAIA history in total assists and second in assists per game (1.15).
The 2023 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Player of the Year and the 2020 AAC Offensive Player of the Year, Moreno concludes his Milligan career as the Buffs' all-time leader in assists (57) and points (115).
Milligan enjoyed a record-setting 2023 season that saw the Buffs claim AAC regular season and tournament titles. Milligan knocked off three top-10 opponents in the NAIA National Tournament to reach the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Game where the Buffs finished as the national runner-up. Milligan enjoyed a record 21-game unbeaten streak during the year and finished with a 19-3-4 record.
