Men’s Soccer plays to scoreless draw at (RV) Reinhardt

WALESKA, Ga. (October 7, 2023) – The Milligan University men's soccer team played to a scoreless draw at (RV) Reinhardt on Saturday evening.

Milligan remains unbeaten in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play and in road games as Milligan moved to 9-2-2 on the season and 6-0-2 in conference play. Reinhardt is now 6-2-4, 4-2-1 AAC.

The two teams played to a scoreless first half with Milligan holding a 3-1 edge in shots. The Buffs had an attempt saved by the Reinhardt back line in the 10th minute. On the other end, Simen Haraldstad made a last-second defensive save in the 12th minute to keep the Eagles off the scoreboard.

Santiago Corral in the 43rd minute and Greg Anderson in the 44th minute put shots on frame that were saved to send the teams to halftime tied at zero.

Early in the second half, Asa Kai Blake settled a ball in the penalty area after a free kick and fired a shot wide left in the 52nd minute.

Corral had a header from the six-yard box toward the left post in the 70th minute but was thwarted by a diving effort by the Reinhardt keeper. The Buffs nearly scored on a corner kick in the 76th minute as Elies Simo's header was snatched out of the air at the last moment.

Alex Panner had a shot blocked in the 86th minute and Reinhardt had an attempt sail high in in the 89th as the teams played to a 0-0 final score.

Milligan outshot Reinhardt 9-3 (7-2 SOG) on the evening. Adria Alles made one save in the shutout. Corral and Panner both had two shots on goal.

The Buffs travel to Kentucky Christian on Wednesday.
