Haraldstad’s last-second goal lifts Men’s Soccer past Bryan

The Buffs move to 5-2-1 on the season and remain unbeaten in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play (2-0-1 AAC). Bryan snaps a four-game winning streak and falls to 4-4, 2-1 AAC.
With the score tied at one since the 54th minute, Milligan had a throw-in from the 18-yard box extended in the final 10 seconds of regulation. Inaki Moreno heaved the ball into the box, where Jett Carter headed it at the right post over to the left side where Haraldstad made a sliding shot to give the Buffs the win.
Asa Kai Blake gave Milligan a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute when Inaki Moreno brought the ball into the right side of 18-yard box and centered a grounded cross. Carter touched the ball over to Blake who finished his first goal of the season.
Carter nearly gave the Buffs a two-goal advantage as he hit the right post and sent the rebound wide in the 42nd minute. Blake had a well-struck attempt in the 44th turned back.
Milligan led 1-0 at the half and owned a 13-0 edge in shots over the first 45 minutes.
The Lions evened the score at one less than 10 minutes into the second half. Bryan served a cross from just inside midfield into the penalty area and headed a game-tying goal.
The game remained tied at one throughout the second half. Moreno had a pair of close-range shots sail wide right in the period.
With just over a minute remaining, Bryan had a one-on-one opportunity with Adria Alles preserving the tie score with a diving stop before Haraldstad's heroics in the final seconds.
Milligan outshot Bryan 19-9 in the contest and both teams finished with five shots on goal.
The Buffs travel to Columbia (S.C.) on Saturday.
