Ludvig Wille tabbed as AAC Defensive Player of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. (November 7, 2022) – Milligan University sophomore Ludvig Wille was tabbed as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.

In the Buffs' AAC quarterfinal matchup against Truett McConnell on Friday, Wille held the Bears off the scoreboard for 90 minutes of regulation and two overtime periods. With the game scoreless after two overtimes, the teams went to a penalty kick shootout.

After Milligan fell behind 1-0 in the shootout, Wille made saves on back-to-back TMU attempts to help Milligan even the shootout score at one. Elies Simo and Inaki Moreno converted PKs in the fourth and fifth frames to help Milligan take the shootout 3-1 and advance in the AAC Tournament.

Wille leads the AAC in goals against average for the season (0.91).

Milligan squares off with fourth-seeded Union in the AAC semifinals. The Buffs and Bulldogs will kick off at 5:00 p.m. at Anglin Field.
