Big second half powers No. 15 Men’s Soccer to 4-0 Senior Day win over Bluefield
MILLIGAN, Tenn. (October 27, 2021) – The Milligan University men's soccer team scored three second half goals and closed its 2021 regular season home schedule with a 4-0 win over Bluefield on Senior Day at Anglin Field on Wednesday afternoon.

The No. 15 Buffs move to 14-2 on the season, 10-2 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play and 9-0 at home in 2021. Bluefield falls to 4-12, 2-10 AAC.
Bluefield employed a five-man back line in hopes of deterring the Buffs' potent offense.
The Rams kept Milligan off the scoreboard for most of the first half, but the Milligan broke through in the 30th minute. During an extended offensive sequence, Charlie Betts flicked from the right post to the far side of the six-yard box to a waiting Raphael Sefriou, who headed in his fifth goal of the season.
The Buffs could not find a second goal in the first half and carried a 1-0 lead into the half.
Milligan outshot the Rams 11-1 (5-0 SOG) in the first half. Bluefield's only shot came on a free kick that flew harmlessly high of the crossbar.
The margin remained 1-0 through the first 30 minutes of the second half. The Rams nearly tied it with a counterattack cross to the left post, but a diving header attack couldn't connect around with around 20 minutes left to play.
Jett Carter put the Buffs ahead 2-0 with a head in the 77th minute off a ball from Alexsander Krogh. Krogh set up Odin Solheim for a tally in the 84th minute and Carter in the 89th to extend the Buffs' lead to the final score of 4-0.
Milligan outshot Bluefield 31-1 on the day and held a 12-0 edge in shots on goal.
Jan Kuepper picked up his 10th shutout of the season.
Krogh notched a career high three assists. Carter scored his team-leading 12th and 13th goals of the season.
The Buffs can lock up the second seed in the AAC Tournament with a win at Johnson (Tenn.) on Saturday.
