Eight Buffs score for No. 12 Men’s Soccer in nonconference win
MILLIGAN, Tenn. (September 30, 2021) – Eight different players scored as the Milligan University men’s soccer team defeated Pikeville 12-0 on Thursday evening at Anglin Field.

MILLIGAN, Tenn. (September 30, 2021) – Eight different players scored as the Milligan University men's soccer team defeated Pikeville 12-0 on Thursday evening at Anglin Field.
Milligan moves to 8-1 on the year while Pikeville falls to 0-6.
The No. 12 Buffs scored twice in the game's first 10 minutes.
Charlie Betts got the scoring started in the sixth minute when he intercepted a Pikeville pass along the Bears' back line and bested the goalie in a one-on-one situation for his third goal of the season.
Two minutes later, the Buffs scored again as Betts connected with Alex Frances, who headed in his third tally of the year.
Betts added another goal on a rebound in the 23rd minute on a rebound and Frances skied for another header on a cross from Raphael Sefriou in the 25th to make it 4-0 Buffs.
Jett Carter got in on the scoring in the game's 33rd minute after Sefriou sent a free ball through Pikeville's back line and Carter juked the keeper and cashed in with his seventh goal of the season.
Luke Bennett and Marius Grytdal each added their first goals of the season in the 35th and 38th minutes. Bennet had a shot stopped by the Pikeville keeper but collected the rebound and scored. Grytdal added scored off a short pass on a corner kick by Sefriou.
Milligan led 7-0 at the halftime break. The Buffs outshot Pikeville 16-3 in the first half.
Odin Solheim blasted in his first goal of the year, volleying a clear attempt by Pikeville from long range in the 47th minute.
Charlie Betts completed a hat trick with a header in the 48th minute off a pass from Simen Haraldstad.
After dishing three assists in the first half, Sefriou scored on a direct free kick in the 54th minute. Alexsander Krogh scored in the 68th minute.
A Pikeville own goal brought the game to its final score of 12-0.
Milligan attempted 35 shots with 20 on frame. Jan Kuepper earned the win in net with two saves.
The Buffs are off until next Wednesday when Truett McConell comes to town for a 3:00 p.m. kickoff at Anglin Field.
