No. 22 Buffs score early and late in road win at WVU Tech
BECKLEY, W.Va. (August 28, 2021) – Elies Sebbouh scored in the first 10 minutes of regulation and Jett Carter scored in the final 10 minutes as the Milligan University men’s soccer team earned a 2-0 victory at WVU Tech on Saturday afternoon.

BECKLEY, W.Va. (August 28, 2021) – Elies Sebbouh scored in the first 10 minutes of regulation and Jett Carter scored in the final 10 minutes as the Milligan University men's soccer team earned a 2-0 victory at WVU Tech on Saturday afternoon.
The victory moves the 22nd-ranked Buffs to 2-0 on the season. WVU Tech, who received votes in the 2021 NAIA Preseason Top 25 Coaches poll, falls to 0-1 on the year.
Sebbouh handed the Buffs an early 1-0 advantage in the eighth minute off an assist by Luke Bennett.
Milligan clung to that 1-0 advantage for over an hour of game time, until Charlie Betts fed Carter to provide some breathing room with a goal in the 84th minute.
Goalkeeper Jan Kuepper and company fended off 10 WVU Tech shots on goal on the day with Kuepper making eight saves and the Buffs' defense was credited with defensive saves in the 48th and 55th minutes.
Both the Buffs and Golden Bears recorded 14 shots but Milligan owned a 9-2 edge in corner kicks.
The Buffs return to play Wednesday afternoon at Pikeville at 2:00 p.m.
