MILLIGAN, Tenn. (Nov. 14, 2020) – Victor Castel scored the match-winning goal in just the seventh minute while Inaki Moreno added a pair of tallies to help send the Milligan University men's soccer team to a crushing 6-0 defeat of Montreat College Saturday afternoon on Anglin Field.
The win represented Milligan's fourth shutout of the season and improved the Buffaloes to 6-1.
Scoring frenzy from start to finish
The Buffs had not played a match since Oct. 21, and their eagerness to compete showed early and often. Castel found the back of the net with a header following a Moreno corner kick to put the Buffs on top early, then Moreno found the back of the net himself twice in the next 20 minutes to make it 3-0 heading into the halftime break.
Moreno's second goal came from an assist by Ethan Bishop who lobbed a corner kick in to Moreno near the top of the penalty area. Moreno finished with one touch.
Alex Frances, Odin Solheim and Jett Carter added the goals for Milligan in the second half as the Buffaloes doubled the score.
Castel was credited the assist on Frances' goal, Moreno the assist on Solheim's goal and Bishop on Carter's goal.
