PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. — On Monday and Tuesday, the Milligan University men's golf team started their 2025 spring campaign at the Bulldog Spring Clash in Pawleys Island, S.C., hosted by Barton College. As a squad, the Buffaloes finished 19th by shooting 70-over-par 910 across the three rounds, with rounds one and two played on Monday and round three commencing on Tuesday. 

Francisco de Bethencourt was the Buffs highest finisher, in 63rd, with an eight-over-par tally. He shot round of 73, 70 and 75, respectively, across the 54 holes. 

Gustaf Lundberg placed 83rd after his 76, 77, 75 three-round score of +18 for the tournament. Esteban Hicks and Hjalmar Liljenberg both posted +25 performances, as Hicks shot a 79 and an 82 on day one, but finished things off with a highly respectable 74 in the final round. Liljenberg started his tourney off well with a 74 and a 73, but ran off the proverbial train tracks with an 88 in round three.

Manuel Gutierrez placed 100th with a 33-over-par tourney. He shot a 79, 77, 87 three-round tally as the final Milligan finisher at the event.

A week-and-a-half hiatus awaits the Buffaloes before they match up with the Tusculum University Pioneers in a Match Play event at Johnson City Country Club on Thursday, Mar. 6.
