Wallingford named AAC Co-Coach of Character
WALESKA, Ga. - On Wednesday, the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) announced that Tony Wallingford has been named a AAC Co-Coach of Character as part of the conference's End of Year Awards.
The head men's and women's golf coach at Milligan helped lead his successfull programs to impressive finishes this season. The Milligan men ended up finishing fifth in the AAC Tounrament with two athletes earning All-AAC accolades. The women placed third at the AAC Championships and were able to qualify for the NAIA National Championships in Silvis, Ill., where they ended up placing 14th out of the 30 squads who were invited. Kate Castle was named an NAIA All-American for the second straight year, after her 39th-place individual finish.
Beyond the links, coach Wallingford has had a major impact on Milligan and its students, having been the head coach of the program since 1992. He demonstrates the character that he expects from his student-athletes, and they follow his example.
